The 7 Generals are the principalities that attack the world through what's known as the seven deadly sins. Each of the sins or vices is a specific battle tactic, but all of them follow a common 12-Point Progression:Demon’s Manifesto: Each vice is predicated on a lie that’s meant to steal from the life a person can experience in communion with God. Each vice has its own focus.First Taste: An initial instance where the demonic lie seems to have enough truth in it to test it out. A person will know they’re playing with fire, and most will feel some level of discomfort, but the demonic/terroristic reward is compelling anyway.New Recruit’s Rationalization: A person works to justify their choices, and in so doing, they find a way to “make the lie their own,” like a newly recruited terrorist might.First Payday: Where the first taste was nearly a passive reward, the first payday is more significant and results from an intentional agreement between the lie and the person’s rationalization. This is like a terrorist experiencing the thrill of a first successful attack.Taxes on the First Payday: Here, the consequences and costs of the agreement a person has made become more apparent. A terrorist who can’t return home or is now on a government watch list, for instance. In spiritual terms, this is the last chance people have to change their minds before the damage of their decisions is too great.Masks Come Off: This is where the extortion photos arrive in the mail or where the terrorist leader makes it clear there is no way out of the organization. The sin, like the terrorist organization, reveals that you are not friends.Negotiating with Terrorists: Now stuck, but also still ambivalent about the cost and rewards of the vice/sin pattern, a person fosters a permissive environment for the sin to go forward. The investment-reward-taxation-hesitation-unmasking pattern repeats.First Dead Hostage: Where the costs have been “out there” before this point, here is where the really heavy blows begin. In the terrorist example, this is where a fellow recruit – really a hostage to the organization – is killed. This is where jobs, marriages, wealth, freedom, health, sanity, and the lives of loved ones are lost.Gaslighting the Mirror: Trapped, caged, indeed held against one’s will, a person may rage for an escape. This usually looks like movements that only cinch the trap tighter, because the methods of pursued escape often utilize the same lie as the prison from which a person thinks they’re trying to escape.Decorating the Shackles: Fatigued to the point of defeat, the person agrees their prison is their home. They assume that if they acquiesce, the attacks will relent.Death Row Torture: This is where the true nature of the demonic agenda becomes evident. Slavery was never enough. The objective was always complete devouring. The attacks at this stage see a person who appears wholly given over to their sins. The Coup de Grâce Agreement: an entirely “unto death” agreement, not just for the physical body but also for the life that quickens a person. It is the life of the marrow that the demons burrow through bone to reach. Here, a person offers that marrow in passive defeat, assuming death as a reward. This book is a quick reference field guide to consider the tactics, objectives, and messages of your spiritual enemy, but it is not a fascination with them. None of the generals can stand up to Jesus, and none can remove His followers from His hand. The agenda of Jesus is to destroy the efforts of these generals and to make a mockery of them. The agenda of this book is to help you be part of that effort. Read more
